This morning I had the honor of joining the Friends of Red Gate, a group of passionate people about great productivity tools. Over the coming months, I will be providing community feedback about tools like the Azure Management Studio.
The Azure Management Studio is one of the best tools when it comes to working with Windows Azure resources. The tool is kept up-to-date and is on a tight release cycle. With each new update I get the feeling that they’re listening to the community and that they’re putting in the effort required to keep up with Windows Azure’s rapid release cycle.
For those who are still trying to get a handle on Windows Azure, I wrote a short post about it, Windows Azure is an ecosystem of services that can be leveraged to build reliable solutions. Tools like Visual Studio and the Azure Management Studio are essential when it comes to managing and manipulating various services without going through PowerShell.
If you haven’t tried out the Azure Management Studio, take it out for a spin and let me know what you think. I’m especially interested in finding out if anything is missing ;)
